Aaron Parkus

Aaron Parkus first discovered his love for scenic design with the release of Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings trilogy. Already possessing a background in construction, he decided to attend the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for special effects, scenic design, and prop fabrication.

He has spent over 10 years in the haunted attraction industry, designing for nationally recognized attractions such as ScareHouse and Hundred Acres Manor. While working with Hundred Acres Manor, Aaron traveled to Dubai, UAE, to build Hysteria Haunted Attraction. Located in The Dubai Mall, Hysteria was the first haunted attraction to be built in the city of Dubai.

For over 4 years, he has been designing both the scenic elements and puzzles for escape rooms. He has worked on attractions for companies such as Escape Room Pittsburgh, Hundred Acres Manor, and Escape Room 51.

He has worked with Tolin FX as a sculptor, painter, and fabricator. Working on projects such as Ark Encounter, Lockheed Martin C-130, Outsiders, Enuatti, Unsinkable, and The Full Monty.  

Aaron’s additional experience includes Skyline Displays, fabricating trades show displays for corporate companies and work with IATSE Local 489 as a scenic painter.
